Below her, tucked between mango groves and swaying palms, lies a village of colorful rooftops and gentle pathways. Something about this place makes her heart flutter — not from flying, but from hope.

The village grows clearer as Lila descends — painted shutters peek through leafy canopy, white laundry dances on a line, and a thin ribbon of chimney smoke curls lazily into the golden sky. Each detail whispers a gentle welcome.

Lila is a tiny hummingbird with a big imagination. She paints the world around her — flowers, sunsets, even puddles after the rain become her canvas. Quiet and thoughtful, Lila notices the small beautiful things that everyone else misses, and she loves sharing those moments through her art.
The Heart of Veguitas
Lila lands softly on a branch of the massive ceiba tree that stands at the heart of the village square. She pauses, her tiny chest rising and falling, and looks around. The fountain trickles peacefully. Golden light filters through ancient leaves. Everything feels exactly right.
Beautiful Discoveries
Lila discovers treasures everywhere she looks — worn stone carvings of hibiscus flowers on the fountain, magenta bougainvillea petals that dip gently under her weight, and a hand-painted sign that reads 'Bienvenidos' with a tiny hummingbird painted beside it. She gasps with delight — someone painted her!
Meeting Ñico the Farmer
In a lush garden, Lila discovers a pink pig kneeling peacefully in the rich dark soil. His name is Ñico, and he's planting seedlings with such gentle care that Lila pauses to watch. When Ñico notices her, his eyes crinkle into a warm smile and he raises one hand in a friendly wave. Lila waves back, feeling immediately welcome.

Colorful Homes
Lila continues her tour, flying past bohíos painted in cheerful colors — one with flower boxes full of red blooms, another with a hammock swaying on the porch. Each home has its own personality, its own story.
Meeting Coco the Inventor
Interesting sounds draw Lila to a small workshop window. Inside, a bright green tree frog named Coco leans over a workbench, his tongue poking out in concentration. Suddenly his contraption works — springs bounce, wheels spin! Coco jumps high in triumph, then spots Lila watching and gives her the most enthusiastic wave she's ever received. She waves back, completely charmed.

Through the workshop window, Lila glimpses shelves crammed with springs and gears, half-built contraptions on every surface, and blueprints pinned everywhere with careful notes. It's creative chaos with a method hidden inside — just like Coco himself.
Meeting Ramón the Shopkeeper
Near the village square stands Ramón's General Store. The brown anole lizard is carefully organizing goods on his shelves, methodical and precise. He hears the flutter of wings, looks over, and sees Lila. His warm professional nod and welcoming gesture say clearly: 'You're welcome here.' Lila nods her gratitude, feeling the trust this village holds.

Ramón runs the general store where the whole village comes for supplies and news. His careful record-keeping and fair prices make him someone everyone trusts. The store is more than a shop — it's where the community connects.
Inside the Store
Inside Ramón's store, everything has its place — woven baskets, farming tools, glass jars of dry goods. A brass scale sits on the worn counter beside an open ledger filled with neat handwriting. On the community board hang notices and even a child's drawing.
Golden Hour Magic
The golden hour deepens, painting everything in rich amber and rose. Shadows stretch long and dramatic. The village transforms into something almost magical, and Lila follows the light toward one more special place.
Meeting Tía Paloma
On a covered porch, a white-crowned pigeon named Tía Paloma sits in her rocking chair, sipping coffee and watching the day wind down. When she sees Lila, a knowing smile crosses her face — she's welcomed many newcomers before. She gestures to the empty chair beside her: 'Sit. Rest.' Lila lands on the chair arm, and together they watch the golden light deepen. No words are needed.

Village elder, storyteller, gentle wisdom keeper · White-crowned Pigeon
Tía Paloma is the village elder and storyteller, a keeper of wisdom and memory. Her porch is where stories are shared, worries are eased, and newcomers learn they truly belong. She sees with patient, loving eyes.
A Moment of Peace
Lila and Tía Paloma sit in comfortable silence, watching amber light paint the world. Tía Paloma hums an old melody, soft and sweet. Lila's feathers glow like jewels. The peace between them feels ancient and new all at once — the peace of belonging.
Welcome Home
As the sky blooms coral and amber, Lila returns to the great ceiba tree. Below her, the village settles into its evening rhythm — Ñico walks home with a basket of mangoes, Coco bounces across the square with his whirring invention, Ramón latches his painted shutters, and Tía Paloma raises her coffee cup in knowing salute. From her high branch, Lila releases one long, crystalline trill that floats across the rooftops. Each villager pauses, smiles, and silently welcomes her home.
Veguitas
The village of Veguitas settles into peaceful twilight. The great ceiba tree stands watchful, colorful rooftops glow softly in the fading light, and somewhere in the branches, a tiny hummingbird tucks her head beneath her wing. She is home at last.
